Energy /IT Solutions Analyst II | Information Technology
What your day would be like:
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our critical AMI systems. Your day will involve supporting and maintaining the Advanced Infrastructure (AMI) Head-end systems. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and integrity of the system used to manage smart meters, collect meter data, and interface with MDMS, GIS, and Outage Management system. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop and implement solutions, and ensure the seamless operation of Meter to Cash systems.
You are responsible for:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in AMI Head End System (Landis+Gyr Command Center, Honeywell Connexo, ITRON).
- Monitoring of critical daily activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of AMI Data for downstream systems.
- Coordinate and support Application Patches/upgrades, Security patching, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with IT, MDMS, Meter Infrastructure, Field Services, and Vendors to resolve integration and data issues.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and suggest system optimizations.
- Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance efforts.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards for AMI systems.
- Provide on-call support and respond to system alerts outside business hours, as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure reliable data and system functionality.
- Support projects that align with strategic IT goals.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Plus, two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires working technical knowledge gained through experience within a job area or system.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications
- Knowledge of safety policies, practices, and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; generation, transmission, and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware, and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. Skills in developing and writing technical documentation; evaluating and testing emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, statistics, mechanics, physics, technical writing, and testing various equipment such as flow meters. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments; provide off-hours support as part of an on-call rotation; work well in a team and with customers/clients; problem solve; think innovatively; and pay high attention to detail.
Major Accountabilities
- Apply technical knowledge to process, support, and resolve broad software support requests within EMS, SCADA, and other control systems.
- Utilize approved support processes and tools, providing feedback on improvements.
- Participate in troubleshooting across the SCADA system and lead basic troubleshooting efforts.
- Provide advanced support for development, operation, and maintenance of systems software, networks, and databases.
- Develop statistics and performance reports.
- Review and verify low-risk changes, escalating as necessary.
- Migrate and deploy moderately complex solutions.
- Support operations during off-hours through on-call rotations.
- Suggest improvements to enhance grid reliability and efficiency.
- Assist in training and mentoring entry-level analysts.
