Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a Summer 2027 start to join our Energy & Industrial Group. You will work on a project team and support senior engineers in system design, calculations, drawings, and vendor reviews for power plants, industrial facilities, and renewable projects.

Excellent opportunity to apply coursework in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer while developing reporting and communication skills on real-world projects.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
• Strong coursework in mechanical systems analysis (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus strong PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing system designs and engineering calculations.
• Prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications; evaluate bid packages and review vendor drawings for major equipment procurement and installation services.
• Contribute to project reporting including tracking progress and data analysis.
