Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an enthusiastic intern to support the CFO Load Research and Energy Forecasting teams in Denver. You will contribute to data analysis, forecasting studies, and research that inform planning, budgeting, and regulatory decisions, with exposure to Databricks, Python, SQL, and Excel in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a quantitative degree, can work full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year, and show strong

Qualifications

Enrolled in accredited college pursuing a quantitative degree.
Ability to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hrs/week) and part-time during school year (up to 20 hrs/week).
Strong data analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Support load research and forecasting projects by gathering, reviewing, and summarizing data.
Assist with analysis for planning, budgeting, regulatory, and business decisions.
Help improve tools, reports, and processes for forecasting and research work.
Explore how customer behavior, weather, and new technologies may affect energy use.
Document work and share findings with team members and stakeholders.
