Job summary

CPL is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer to lead energy assessments, benchmark studies, and EPC development for K-12 and commercial buildings in the Charlotte area. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify high-impact conservation opportunities and deliver practical, value-adding solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Energy Engineering with 5+ years of energy engineering experience and a CEM or CEA credential; strong communication with clients and project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering with 5+ years of energy engineering and building performance experience.
  • CEM or CEA credential and strong knowledge of HVAC, energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and utility programs.
  • Ability to analyze complex energy systems and communicate recommendations to clients and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead energy audits, benchmarking studies, and feasibility assessments to identify energy-saving opportunities and support EPC development.
  • Partner with clients and internal engineering teams to develop, evaluate, and implement energy conservation measures for K-12 and commercial building projects.
  • Navigate incentive programs, regulatory requirements, and technical reviews to maximize project value and outcomes.
