Responsibilities

As a Permanent Energy Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing modeling software such as eQuest, Doe2, HAP, Trane, and Trace to develop and optimize energy-efficient systems.
  • Monitoring energy systems, including heating, electrical, air, and ventilating systems, to ensure optimal performance and cost savings.
  • Implementing sustainable design principles in the development and modification of energy systems.
  • Providing consulting services to clients and colleagues on energy efficiency and sustainable design strategies.
  • Conducting data logging to track and analyze energy usage and performance.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures in the operation and maintenance of energy systems.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in energy engineering and sustainable design, and applying this knowledge to your work.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in energy engineering, with a focus on heating, electrical, air, and ventilating systems.
  • Proficiency in modeling software such as eQuest, Doe2, HAP, Trane, and Trace.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring energy systems and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • A strong understanding of sustainable design principles and their application in energy engineering.
  • Proven experience in consulting and providing expert advice on energy efficiency and sustainable design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of energy engineering.
