Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Role

Role: Energy Engineer

An established engineering consultancy in the NYC area is hiring an Energy Engineer to lead high-impact initiatives in building automation, energy metering, and control system optimization.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of complex facilities—including medical campuses, universities, hospitals, and industrial sites—providing a dynamic environment for engineers passionate about energy efficiency and smart building technologies.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead detailed, hands-on energy assessments (aligned with ASHRAE Level III standards) for large facilities, including hospitals, universities, and municipal buildings.
  • Develop and tailor energy conservation calculations for custom solutions, working closely with design teams to ensure alignment with client goals.
  • Provide technical guidance to design engineers to implement long-term energy efficiency strategies.
  • Track and report project progress to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
  • Analyze energy data and compile comprehensive reports that translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Take the initiative to shape project outcomes by collaborating with internal teams and directly influencing design decisions.
What We’re Looking For
  • A keen ability to analyze HVAC systems, understanding their operations and energy impact.
  • Strong foundation in building systems, backed by a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Renewable & Clean Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience reading and interpreting building plans and blueprints.
Preferred Experience
  • Hands-on experience with ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits.
  • Proven ability to conduct energy analyses using utility data and create detailed reports.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes.
  • Expertise in large commercial, hospital, or institutional spaces.
