Job summary

LVI Associates in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Energy Consultant to help industrial and manufacturing clients reduce energy use and carbon emissions through detailed energy audits, data analysis, and technical evaluations.

You will develop energy balances, perform financial analyses for capital projects, mentor junior staff, and present findings to client leadership as you travel roughly 20% of the time in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in energy engineering, sustainability consulting, or industrial energy management.
• Demonstrated experience conducting industrial energy audits and identifying efficiency opportunities.
• Strong understanding of energy conservation measures, decarbonization initiatives, and climate strategy development.
• Familiarity with Measurement & Verification principles and the IPMVP.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed energy audits and site assessments within industrial and manufacturing environments.
• Analyze utility consumption data and operational performance metrics to identify energy-saving opportunities.
• Develop energy balances, consumption calculations, and technical evaluations.
• Prepare financial analyses and high-level business cases for capital improvement projects.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, performance gaps, and unusual energy usage trends.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to client stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Mentor junior team members through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and professional development support.
