Job summary

PEG, LLC is seeking motivated individuals to learn Energy Sustainability and Building Energy Performance for new residential construction. The role requires becoming a certified HERS Rater, with paid on-the-job training to perform Home Energy Audits in line with RESNET guidelines.

Job location covers a 100-mile radius centered on Richmond, VA, and includes field work, data collection, and equipment testing. Training and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• HERS Rater, Energy Star, Green Building, ACCA 310 HVAC Grading, IECC, HVAC EPA, BPI, and LEED certifications are a plus.
• 2 years of work experience in HVAC, home remodeling, or construction is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform Home Energy Audits following RESNET/Energy Star guidelines.
• Inspect materials, collect data, and observe energy features during audits.
• Test building performance using blower door, ventilation, duct leakage, and airflow tests.
• Develop relationships with builders and code officials.
• Prepare electronic audit reports and complete internal paperwork.
• Maintain equipment per policy and manufacturer specs.
• Travel daily within assigned 100-mile radius around Richmond, VA.
