Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in New York City is seeking a Building Commissioning Intern for Summer 2027 to support fieldwork and office tasks on Building Envelope and Waterproofing projects.

You will assist with envelope tests, site observations, drawing reviews, reports, and data analyses, and you may travel to job sites across New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts as needed. This internship also offers development of communication and networking skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
• Reliable transportation to the office and project sites across New England.
• Preferred: internship or co-op in commissioning, energy audits, or related engineering.
• Coursework in Building Envelope Design, Commissioning, or Energy Efficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical staff on Building Envelope and Waterproofing projects.
• Involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks.
• Assist with envelope tests during construction: Window Air and Water Tests, Infrared Imaging, Blower Door Tests, Adhesion Tests, Fog Tests.
• Work alongside staff, prepare detailed field visit reports and document project issues.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs; read architectural drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers during planning, design, and construction; prepare reports and analyses; travel to sites in NY/CT/RI/MA.
