Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Building Envelope Intern for a hands-on role in New York, blending field site work with office support. You will gain exposure to exterior wall systems, windows, doors, roofing, waterproofing, and construction documents, working with engineers, inspectors, and project managers.

This internship offers mentorship, professional development, and the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real projects, while learning building codes and project reporting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Interest in building envelope design, construction, inspection, and engineering.
• Basic understanding of building construction, architectural design, or structural concepts is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field visits and construction site inspections with engineers and inspectors.
• Observe exterior wall and building envelope construction phases.
• Learn how projects progress from design to construction.
• Assist with field reviews and documenting progress.
