Job summary

ENGIE Italia seeks a Contract Negotiation Lawyer in Milan or Rome to join the Italian Legal team within S&EM. You will support power, gas and commodity derivative contracts, drafting and negotiating templates and complex agreements, while advising on regulatory and risk issues.

The role requires a Master’s in Law, three+ years’ energy contracts experience, and fluent English and Italian. Permanent contract; location either Milan or Rome; collaboration with trading, origination, and risk

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law; Italian Bar admission is a plus.
• At least three years’ experience in energy commodity and financial derivative contracts negotiation.
• Fluent English and Italian (oral and written) with strong drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on, draft, review, negotiate energy contracts (offtake, EFETs, PPAs) and complex derivatives.
• Develop and execute legal strategies to support commercial objectives while mitigating risk.
• Draft, review and negotiate credit management documents (netting, letters of credit, guarantees).
• Conduct regulatory due diligence and advise on conditions precedent for commodities and financial contracts.
• Provide governance memos and training; liaise with management; supervise external counsel.
