Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking an Energy Delivery System Operator Associate to support the real-time operation of the transmission system under supervision. You will coordinate with the AEP SCC and neighboring utilities, monitor voltages and loads, and prepare switching orders for maintenance or emergencies.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, and offers a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• High School diploma plus 2 years in a role that demonstrates power system operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and regulating system voltage levels and real and reactive power flows.
• Assist in real-time operation of the transmission system in coordination with AEP SCC.
• Prepare basic switching orders and safety tagging for equipment removal during maintenance or construction.
• Direct switching operations under emergency conditions and assist in restoration of service.
• Maintain logs of events and transactions related to facility operations.
• Observe and assist in operating the SCADA system and report malfunctions.
