You will represent H-E-B in regulatory, legislative, and utility meetings, and translate what happens in those rooms into clear written and verbal summaries that the broader team can act on. You will manage multiple concurrent priorities across microgrid, solar, and natural gas workstreams spanning 400+ locations in Texas.

  • Build and maintain program processes, standards, schedules, and success metrics for energy initiatives.
  • Represent H-E-B in ERCOT, PUCT, utility, and legislative meetings; track proposed rules, market changes, or legislative initiatives and assess their impact to H-E-B.
  • Prepare materials, talking points, and data summaries ahead of regulatory and legislative meetings, and report back key takeaways and action items to leadership and the broader energy team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with electric and gas utility and regulatory contacts.
  • Co-own REP relationships and contract strategy for ERCOT territory; resolve service, billing, and other issues with electric, natural gas, water, and propane providers.
  • Oversee interconnection agreements, installation, operations, maintenance, and effectiveness of the resiliency systems (generators, microgrids, solar, storage) that keep our locations in operation.
  • Lead design and rollout decisions for behind-the-meter generation, storage, and microgrid projects, including sizing and demand planning.
  • Build and deliver regular summaries, briefings, and training (including live sessions for facility and store managers) that keep the wider team current on program status, incidents, and market developments.
  • Build analyses to quantify the financial impact of energy opportunities, proposed solutions, and regulatory changes; track program success metrics.
  • Identify and execute opportunities that reduce cost and risk for power and natural gas while advancing corporate goals.
