Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Manager, Grid Integration - Data Center & Power to lead interconnection, transmission, and commissioning for large-load data center projects and utility-scale generation in ERCOT. You will coordinate ERCOT interconnection requests, review agreements, and work with utilities, transmission providers, and internal teams while guiding project milestones.

Requires a Bachelor’s in EE, 3–7 years in power systems, knowledge of ERCOT processes, and experience with PSS/E or similar

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–7 years in power systems, grid integration, or renewable energy.
  • Working knowledge of ERCOT interconnection processes.
  • Understanding of transmission planning concepts and Power System basics.
  • Experience with ERCOT protocols and market operations.

Manager, Grid Integration - Data Center & Power

Basic Function: The Manager, Grid Integration will support the interconnection, transmission, and commissioning activities for large-load (data center) projects and utility-scale generation and in ERCOT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support large-load interconnection and generator interconnection activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of ERCOT interconnection requests, RARFs, and related documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing interconnection applications, study agreements, and interconnection agreements.
  • Coordinate with ERCOT, transmission providers, utilities, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Track project milestones to help maintain development schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3-7 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, grid integration, utility engineering, or renewable energy development.
  • Working knowledge of ERCOT generator and/or large-load interconnection processes.
  • Understanding of transmission planning concepts and power system fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with ERCOT protocols and market operations.
  • Familiarity with FERC interconnection processes.
  • Experience with power system software such as PSS®E, PSLF, TARA, or PowerWorld.
  • Exposure to Python, SQL, or data analytics tools.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy, battery storage, or data center projects.
  • Work on industry-leading renewable energy and hyperscale data center developments.

  • Base Pay - $140,000 - $165000
  • Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, certifications, specific work location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Base pay may vary per location due to differences in the cost of living.
  • The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual discretionary bonus, full Health & Wellness Benefits package, generous Long Term Incentive plan designed with our partnership mentality in mind, and other applicable incentive perks as outlined in any formal offer made. The final compensation package will be discussed with the candidate during the final stages of the hiring process.
