Weaver has a practice dedicated to helping businesses navigate compliance with environmental regulations, including those governed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Environment Canada. Transportation fuel (i.e., gasoline, diesel and renewable fuel) regulations are a substantial focus of Weaver’s Energy Compliance Services (ECS) practice. Generally, the ultimate goal of these regulations is to reduce air pollutants and carbon emissions. We help companies of all sizes understand the regulatory requirements, maintain corporate compliance, and identify and maximize benefits that might be available under such programs.

Weaver has a practice dedicated to helping businesses navigate compliance with environmental regulations, including those governed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Environment Canada. Transportation fuel (i.e., gasoline, diesel and renewable fuel) regulations are a substantial focus of Weaver’s Energy Compliance Services (ECS) practice. Generally, the ultimate goal of these regulations is to reduce air pollutants and carbon emissions. We help companies of all sizes understand the regulatory requirements, maintain corporate compliance, and identify and maximize benefits that might be available under such programs.
Much of the work performed within our ECS practice is auditing in nature. Weaver is one of the largest providers of EPA attestation services in the U.S. and one of only four firms whose Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), RIN-tegrity®, is approved by the U.S. EPA for domestic and foreign renewable fuel producers, as well as renewable fuel importers. The QAP program provides validation of renewable energy credits generated under the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard. Both of these audit/verification services (as well as other auditing services performed) require the ability to understand the regulations, assess compliance (which includes a regulated party’s internal control environment) and clearly document work performed. We perform a variety of consulting services in the ECS practice.
An ECS Intern will work closely with other team members to identify and resolve issues encountered in performance of assignments and take ownership of projects or engagements assigned. An ECS Intern will also be expected to develop an understanding of technical laws and regulations related to the ECS practice and the ability to research issues and provide management with coherent information on routine, non-complex matters.

Education And Skills
