Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking an Energy Marshal to join the Field Operations Team for field and project-based work. The role requires leading energy isolation programs, coordinating with commissioning and QC, and ensuring safety and compliance on site.

Ideal candidates hold NEC expertise, NFPA 70e certification, MV/HV experience, and may have a Journeyman/Master Electrician license. Travel across the U.S. is expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• NFPA 70e Certification required/preferred.
• Experience with MV/HV systems and Electrical Testing and Verification.
• Data Center experience is a plus.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred but not required.
• Ability to mentor and train other project staff and foster teamwork.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Ensure energy isolation documentation is complete before energization and coordinate with QC.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure energy isolation program compliance and safe conditions.
• Lead routine meetings and provide updates to project and operations teams on energy program progress.
• Create and manage reports presenting energy program updates to management.
• Coordinate with Commissioning Manager to establish sequencing and testing.
• Work with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and verify safety compliance.
• Perform Foreign Object and Debris inspections before energization.
• Organize and lead pre-energization meetings and approve energization steps.
• Review single-line drawings and confirm switch positions before activation.
• Oversee temporary grounding/earthing removal and final inspections.
