Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks an Energy Plans Reviewer to serve as the subject matter expert for the Denver Energy Code and IECC. You will guide staff and external customers, review residential energy design compliance, and help update codes and resources.

The role blends design review, training, and collaboration across trades in a dynamic government setting with a hybrid work model and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting, applying Denver Energy Code, IECC, and related standards.
• Five years of direct design, plan review, or project delivery in building energy.
• Field experience as inspector, HERS Rater, or energy auditor preferred.
• Certifications for building energy use and simulation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review energy code design compliance for residential buildings per Denver’s amended codes.
• Provide customer service to help external customers understand energy code requirements.
• Collaborate across trades and City agencies to update codes and resources.
• Develop and implement energy code training programs for staff and applicants.
• Work with inspectors and contractors to ensure compliance and quality outcomes.
