Responsibilities

• Coordinate development, adoption, and implementation of building energy codes and amendments aligning with city goals.
• Manage long- and short-term code update cycles, evaluate performance and compliance outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal departments, regional partners, county, and state agencies for consistency.
• Provide analytical interpretation of building performance and energy data to inform recommendations.
• Support climate initiatives with technical, policy, and data analysis on energy use.
• Develop and deliver training for inspectors, plans examiners, engineers, and staff on codes.
• Maintain educational materials, guidance documents, and web resources for contractors and owners.
• Provide staff interpretation of energy code requirements to internal/external stakeholders.
• Track metrics, identify trends, and propose process improvements.
• Present recommendations to Loveland Utilities Commission, boards, and City Council.
