Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Technology Solutions Engineer to join the Energy WW division in Seattle, WA. You will advise owners on maximizing efficiency of existing building automation systems and optimize data throughput across BAS networks.

The role requires 5-7+ years in BAS/controls, a mechanical engineering background, and strong project management. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve comfort, sustainability, and lifecycle performance of diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent work experience in the built environment.
• 5-7+ years of BAS/controls experience, including programming, integration, and energy management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CMMS user.
• Strong controls project management and people skills.
• Understanding of building efficiency and design principles.
• Familiarity with IT troubleshooting in BAS networks.
• Certification or experience in Metasys, Alerton, AX, N4, Niagara, Distech, BACnet preferred.

Responsibilities

• As a Technology Solutions Engineer, advise owners on maximizing value of building automation systems.
• Ensure remodeled BAS architectures maximize data throughput and reliability.
• Support occupant comfort and energy efficiency across healthcare, higher education, and facilities.
• Collaborate with Technical Services team to drive efficiency and optimization in operations.
