Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems, Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Energetics Scientist/Engineer to lead lab-scale propellant formulation, testing, and data analysis. You will supervise projects from raw ingredient testing through batch scale-up and support cross-functional production teams.

The role reports to the Propellant, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Supervisor and emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with the Mesa team to advance production programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Experience with lab instruments for energetic materials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF Processor license.

Responsibilities

• Apply chemical principles to analyze propellants, pyrotechnics, and/or energetic materials to meet program requirements or to improve production.
• Develop and/or modify formulas, processes, procedures, and techniques to manufacture propellant.
• Develop methods and analyses to create tests for propellant properties and performance.
• Establish optimal trade-offs of propellant properties by modifying composition.
