Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems, Inc is seeking a Research Technician to join the lab team in Mesa, AZ. The role focuses on executing chemical and energetic material testing in the research laboratory and pilot-scale propellant facility, under supervision, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

The candidate should have a chemistry background and hands-on lab experience, and be capable of analyzing data and reporting results. Export control considerations apply, and the role may require BATF approvals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related science; hands-on lab experience preferred.
• Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, volume.
• Ability to apply algebra and geometry concepts.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Willingness to obtain BATF approvals for explosive operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and energetic material testing per procedures.
• Mix chemical solutions and compositions.
• Conduct physical, mechanical, and burn rate testing of energetic materials.
• Operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Record test results with tables and graphs.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, instruments, and safety practices.
• Collaborate with scientists to develop standard test procedures.
• Be comfortable working with explosive materials.
