Yeti Search Group in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Senior Energetics Formulation Chemist to lead the development of energetic materials for solid rocket motor applications. The role focuses on hands-on formulation work, laboratory leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to bring advanced propellants from concept to testing.

Ideal candidate has 5–10 years in energetic materials within aerospace/defense settings, strong analytical skills, and proven technical leadership.

Qualifications

Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science.
5-10 years experience in energetic materials, solid propellants, solid rocket motor propulsion in an aerospace, defense environments a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Technical leadership in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical clientele.
Propellant formulation, material properties, rheology, cure chemistry, and performance.
Launching energetic materials laboratories, pilot lines, testing, and failure analysis.
Must be a US Citizen, due to our adherence to ITAR Regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop energetic materials formulations for solid rocket motor applications.
Lead energetic materials laboratories, pilot lines, and testing activities.
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive formulation development.
Ensure compliance with ITAR and customer requirements.
