Job summary

Provo City invites applications for part-time Recreation Instructor positions within the Community Programs team of the Provo City Recreation division. Instructors create engaging curriculum, promote courses, and lead energetic classes for participants of varying ages and abilities.

Evening hours required; pay rate $13.00-$15.00 per hour. Perks include free admissions, library card, and membership discounts. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work with the public.

Qualifications

• Sufficient knowledge of the format you are applying to teach (e.g. computer science, language, martial arts, cooking, art, music, etc.).
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Preference given to applicants with previous instructing experience, experience working with youth, and for interest in and ability to deliver multiple class options.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging recreation program curriculum.
• Promote and market course(s) to the public.
• Provide energetic classes and instruct students of varying levels.
• Set up and take down materials for students.
• Track attendance.
• Evaluate program success for future modification and improvement.
• Assist recreation staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
