YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to deliver safe, effective group fitness classes under the direction of the Wellness/Program Director. The role requires punctuality, on-site facility readiness, and strict adherence to safety and cleaning protocols.

Responsibilities include class setup, participant safety, learning participant needs, and timely substitute arrangements. Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED and age 18+ are required, with ongoing background screening

Formación

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Appropriate fitness certification.
• One year or more of experience in fitness.
• Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
• Participation in YMCA-sponsored events when possible.
• Background screening as required by Florida and YMCA policies.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver safe, effective, and age-appropriate group exercise classes.
• Arrive promptly and prepare facility for class.
• Set up and take down equipment efficiently.
• Ensure class safety within industry guidelines; monitor participants.
• Use music suitable for a family setting.
• Learn participants' names and respect health concerns and limitations.
• Direct maintenance concerns to supervisor.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings.
• Follow safety and cleaning protocols throughout the day.
• Arrange substitutes if unable to attend; communicate to supervisor promptly.
• Record times and submit corrections as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
