Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to deliver safe, effective, and age-appropriate classes under the direction of the Wellness/Program Director. You will ensure safety standards, manage class setup, and engage participants with attention to health considerations.

The role requires CPR/First Aid/AED, a fitness certification, and completion of mandatory YMCA trainings. Must be 18+ with a strong, energetic attitude and reliable schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Background screening per Florida Care Provider requirements.
• Must adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke-free workplace policy.
• Experience in fitness preferred; ability to lead classes safely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective group exercise classes.
• Ensure classes start and finish on time; manage setup/takedown.
• Maintain participant safety and proper equipment use.
• Learn participant health considerations and adapt as needed.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and follow facility policies.
