Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to deliver safe, effective group fitness classes. You will prepare the facility and equipment, start and finish on time, and ensure safety compliance throughout each session.

Responsibilities include learning participants’ health needs, supervising class activity, and arranging substitutes when needed; mandatory staff meetings are part of ongoing duties.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Appropriate fitness certification.
• Annual Blood Borne Pathogens and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective group exercise classes.
• Prepare facility and equipment; start on time and end on time.
• Monitor participants for safety and accommodate health concerns.
• Learn participant names and health considerations; supervise during class.
• Arrange substitutions and communicate to supervisor; attend mandatory staff meetings.
