Job summary

YMCA of Columbus is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead energetic, safe, and engaging classes for members in Columbus, GA. You will promote wellness and inclusivity, deliver instruction per program guidelines, and maintain documentation while upholding the YMCA’s four core values.

The role requires current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and a nationally recognized group fitness credential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• Nationally recognized group fitness certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) preferred.
• One year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and engaging group classes per program guidelines.
• Answer member questions to support goals related to healthy living.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends to provide accurate information.
• Foster relationships with members and the YMCA community.
• Follow YMCA policies and maintain required documentation.
