Job summary

YMCA of Columbus is seeking a part-time youth sports instructor to lead classes, practices, and games in a positive, safe environment. You will promote youth development, healthy living, and community engagement while supporting families and participants.

The role requires CPR/AED/First Aid certifications (within 60 days) and the ability to relate to diverse groups; candidates 16+ are encouraged to apply and gain experience in instruction.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required, to be obtained within first 60 days.
• AED certification required, to be obtained within first 60 days.
• Basic First Aid certification required, to be obtained within first 60 days.
• Must be at least 16 years old and have experience participating in the relevant activity; previous instruction experience preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and communities.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes, practices, and games as directed.
• Promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
• Answers questions from participants and parents to support goals and provide information on programs.
• Keeps accurate class records (attendance and progress).
• Officiates sport/activity matches and assists in supervision of volunteers.
