Job summary

Marshall Health Network is seeking a Desktop Engineer to lead the design, support, and ongoing improvement of the organization's endpoint computing environment, covering desktops, mobile devices, and thin clients across the health system.

The role ensures reliability, security, and performance while partnering with IT teams, clinical staff, and vendors to implement enterprise endpoint solutions, manage deployment processes, and support disaster recovery planning for secure, efficient computing

Qualifications

• Must have experience managing Windows desktop environments and endpoint devices.
• Hands-on with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with Intune, SCCM, AD, and Group Policy is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration and support of the organization's endpoint and mobile device environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain endpoint management solutions and deployment processes.
• Evaluate, recommend, and standardize desktop hardware and endpoint technologies.
• Manage endpoint OS deployments, updates, patching, and security configurations.
• Support Windows desktop technologies, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.
• Administer endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other automation solutions.
• Monitor endpoint performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support software packaging, deployment, licensing, and application compatibility testing.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation for endpoint systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, help desk, clinical, and business teams on technology initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex desktop and endpoint issues.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements that enhance security, efficiency, and user experience.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on endpoint-related projects and implementations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
