Qualifications

  • Eligibility for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Colorado.
  • Successful completion of USMLE Steps I-III.
  • Graduation from an ACGME‑accredited Urology residency in the United States.
  • Board eligible in Urology with expectation of board certification within timeframe.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Endourology and Stone Disease Fellowship prepares urologistsfor careers in academic or private practice by providingcomprehensive clinical, surgical, and research training. Fellowsgain experience at CU Anschutz Medical Campus and affiliatedhospitals under the guidance of dedicated faculty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical and Surgical Training:
    • Endoscopic stone surgery: cystoscopy, ureteroscopy,percutaneous nephrolithotomy, cystolitholapaxy
    • Endoscopic BPH surgery: holmium laser enucleation of theprostate
    • Laparoscopic and robotic kidney procedures: nephrectomy, cystdecortication
    • Urinary diversion and reconstructive techniques
    • Pre- and post-operative patient management
  • Didactic and Skills Training:
    • Orientation and structured educational sessions
    • Simulation and skill labs
    • Case presentations and weekly lectures
  • Professional Development and Research:
    • Critically review and evaluate new research
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
    • Present at national meetings and produce manuscripts
    • Develop communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Patient Care Skills:
    • Perform general and disease-specific history and physicalexams
    • Order and interpret radiologic studies, ultrasound, andfluoroscopic imaging
    • Counsel patients and obtain informed consent
    • Manage surgical complications and complex clinicaldecision-making

By integrating clinical experience, operative training, andresearch, the fellowship ensures graduates are prepared forindependent practice and leadership in Endourology.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located inAurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Eligibility for full, unrestricted medical licensure in the Stateof Colorado
  • Successful completion of all three steps of the United StatesMedical Licensing Examination (USMLE)
  • Graduation from an ACGME‑accredited Urology residency program inthe United States
  • Board eligible in Urology (American Board of Urology), with theexpectation of achieving board certification within the requiredtimeframe

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for thisposition has been established as HIRING RANGE: $90,960.59and $102,995.34
