University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Gastroenterologist at open rank (Assistant/Associate/Professor) to join the Department of Medicine, Gastroenterology division. The role includes outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, endoscopic procedures, and shared night/weekend call coverage.

Job Summary:

As an important member of the University of Colorado GI faculty,the Gastroenterologist will have clinical responsibilitiesincluding outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital consultations,endoscopic procedures, and nights/weekends call coverage.

The gastroenterologist's primary practice site will be theUniversity of Colorado Hospital, Anschutz Medical Campus, wherethey will provide outpatient and inpatient GI consultative andendoscopic services. This position is 5 days per week, allocated as3 half-days of clinic, 5 half-days of endoscopy, and 2 half-days ofclinical administrative time weekly. Additionally, they willprovide nights/weekends call coverage at the University of ColoradoHospital and affiliate hospitals (Denver Veterans Affairs Hospital,Denver Health Medical Center) in equitable rotation with othermembers of the group.

The successful applicant for this position will be someone whocommunicates appropriately and effectively with patients, staff,consultants, and colleagues, has outstanding customer serviceskills, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationshipsthat are equally respectful to all.

Key Responsibilities :

Evaluation and management of GI disorders within the scope of ageneral gastroenterologist including:

  • GERD
  • Dysphagia
  • IBS/functional GI disorders
  • Eosinophilic Esophagitis
  • Abnormal liver function tests
  • Pancreatitis
  • Occult iron deficiency anemia
  • GI motility disorders
Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as AssistantProfessor, or Associate Professor based on experience andqualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:
  • A medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or active board eligibility inGastroenterology
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State ofColorado medical license
  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such as Epic
  • ACLS and BLS certification
Associate Professor:
  • A medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State ofColorado medical license
  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate GI clinical practiceexperience
  • Prior academic appointment to the level of Associate Professorfrom a previous institution
  • Clear record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficientto be appointed as an Associate Professor or higher at theUniversity of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such as Epic
  • ACLS and BLS certification
Professor:
  • A medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State ofColorado medical license
  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date
  • At least 8 years of post-graduate GI clinical practiceexperience
  • Prior academic appointment to the level of Associate Professorfrom a previous institution
  • Clear record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficientto be appointed as a Professor or higher at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such as Epic
  • ACLS and BLS certification

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for thisposition has been established as HIRING RANGE:

  • Assistant Professor: $320,000- $360,000
  • Associate Professor: $ 350,000- $390,000
  • Professor: $ 400,000- $430,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents theUniversity's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range ofpossible compensation at the time of posting. This position is noteligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
