Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Support Assistant to aid the nursing team in patient care and procedure readiness. Under Staff Nurse supervision, you will position patients, assist with endoscopy procedures, and help manage instruments, supplies, and room turnover.

You will uphold organization values and participate in quality improvement efforts while ensuring patient confidentiality and safety throughout the endoscopy suite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; BLS required.
• RI CNA registration or experience in Endoscopy/Surgical tech preferred.
• SGNA program completion preferred; GI Technical Specialist certification expected within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist endoscopy team with procedures; pass instruments; obtain specimens.
• Prepare endoscopy room; ensure sterile technique and high-level disinfection.
• Transport patients to and from Endoscopy; monitor vital signs pre/post procedure.
• Restock supplies and maintain equipment readiness; clean and disinfect room after cases.
• Support in quality improvement activities and maintain patient confidentiality.
