Brown University Health seeks an Endoscopy Support role to assist the Staff Nurse in direct patient care for endoscopy patients. You will prepare rooms, assist with procedures, and ensure strict aseptic technique and proper disinfection of equipment.

The position requires Basic Life Support, RI CNA certification, and experience in outpatient procedures; SGNA and GI Tech certification within a year are preferred. Day shift, Providence location.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Rhode Island CNA registration or experience as an Endoscopy/Surgical role preferred.
• SGNA program completion preferred.
• GI Technical Specialist certification expected within 1 year of hire.
• Six months related experience in outpatient procedural setting preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist Staff Nurse with nursing process and patient assessment.
• Prepare Endoscopy room with supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Assist with endoscopy procedures; pass instruments, remove polyps, obtain specimens, and assist with cautery.
• Maintain aseptic technique and a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Disinfect endoscopes and accessories; perform high‑level disinfection.
• Test disinfecting solutions daily and adjust as needed.
• Maintain equipment records and assist with patient transport.
• Support department quality improvement activities.
