Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Support role to assist the Staff Nurse in direct patient care for endoscopy patients at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. Responsibilities include room setup, instrument handling, and assisting with endoscopy procedures under supervision.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, RI CNA registration or relevant experience, and SGNA/GI tech certification preferred with completion within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and current BLS certification.
• RI CNA registration or equivalent endoscopy/surgical support experience preferred.
• SGNA program and GI Technical Specialist certification preferred; certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists Staff Nurse with nursing process, data collection, care planning, and patient response monitoring.
• Prepares Endoscopy room with supplies and instruments; assists with procedures and endoscopy tools.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safety; disinfects endoscopes and accessories; performs routine equipment checks and maintenance.
• Cleans, restocks, and prepares room between cases; transports patients to and from Endoscopy; documents activities and regulatory readiness.
