Job summary

Lifespan's Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking an Endoscopy Support role under the supervision of the Staff Nurse to provide direct patient care and assist with endoscopy procedures, including positioning patients and passing instruments.

You will prepare rooms, sterilize and restock supplies, maintain aseptic technique, monitor patient status, and contribute to department safety, compliance, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current RI CNA registration preferred or experience in Endoscopy/Surgical tech.
• SGNA program completion preferred; GI Tech cert expected within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist Staff Nurse with nursing process and data collection.
• Prepare endoscopy room with supplies and equipment.
• Assist with endoscopy procedures and instrument passing.
• Maintain aseptic technique; clean and disinfect endoscopes and accessories.
• Restock and clean room between cases; transport patients as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure patient confidentiality.
