Gapgi is seeking an ASC Endoscope Technician to maintain endoscopic equipment and ensure sterility in the unit. You will support the GI team, assist with procedures as needed, and uphold patient privacy and safety throughout the stay.

The role emphasizes infection control, instrument handling, room preparation, and cooperation with the Nurse Manager, physicians and staff to keep operations smooth and compliant with policies.

Formación

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Knowledge of organizational polices, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment.
• Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrates necessary practical, technical or specialized knowledge and skills required for the role of the GI/Endoscopy technician in accordance with facility policy and procedures.
• Maintains a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Proficient in the care, handling, and disinfection of all endoscopes and accessories.
• Verifies proper functioning of equipment prior to procedure and reports malfunctions.
• Assists the physician with interventions as indicated and prepares specimens.
• Cleans GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepares rooms for next case.
• Maintains patient privacy, comfort, and safety throughout the stay.
• Restocks area daily with appropriate par levels and avoids wasteful practices.
• Checks for outdated sterile supplies and assists with reprocessing as needed.
• Prepares procedure room for use the following day and reports needed items to supervisor.
• Participates in the orientation of new employees.
