Job summary

Harlem Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support the endoscopy team under RN/physician supervision. Responsibilities include equipment prep, patient positioning, instrument handling, and sterile technique to ensure safe procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years direct patient care experience or an Associate’s Degree with 2 years experience.
• Endoscopy Technician training or GI/endoscopy certification preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA within 90 days of appointment.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains endoscopy suite equipment and supplies.
• Positions, drapes, and preps patients for procedures under RN/Endoscopist supervision.
• Assists during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique.
• Performs high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories per policy.
• Monitors patients post-procedure and documents vitals and care in EMR.
