Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to provide technical assistance in the operating room and related units. You will scrub in, prepare sterile fields, and assist with instrument counts, specimen handling, and post-procedure instrument processing.

This entry-level position requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS; CST/TS-C credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
• Level 2/3 qualifications require more experience and CST/TS-C credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing operating room for procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Scrubs in and sets up instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Participates in sponge, needle, and instrument counts as directed.
• Delivers instruments, supplies, and assists with specimen identification and handling.
• Cleans operating room areas and assists with post-operative processing of instruments.
