Job summary

UVM Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join the Ambulatory Surgical Team. You will assist with endoscopic/radiologic procedures, manage instruments and supplies, and support nursing staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.

On-call duties are scheduled and you may float between Main Campus and ASC rooms. Responsibilities include patient prep and post-op assistance under RN supervision, room turnover, and maintaining clean, stocked work areas.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Graduate of a surgical technology program with OR certification within 12 months of hire.
• Complete SGNA online associates program within 6 months of hire.
• Meets pre-employment screening and physical requirements.
• AHA-BLS within 6 months of hire or a current non-BLS card honored until renewal.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, perform, and complete multiple responsibilities promptly.
• Ability to work independently under stressful conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and PC operation preferred.
• Proof of 15 hours of continuing education yearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub support with instruments, supplies, and equipment for endoscopic/radiologic procedures.
• Assist circulating duties under supervision of an Ambulatory Surgery RN.
• Assist with room turnover and post-operative care under RN supervision.
• Float between Main Campus and ASC operating rooms as needed.
• Maintain clean, stocked procedure rooms and support areas.
