Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida seeks a GI Associate to assist the physician and RN in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, and transport patients between rooms.

The role acts as a first assistant, handles and reprocesses instruments, anticipates needs of the physician and team, and participates in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and emergency response within Perioperative Services.

Qualifications

• Assist in endoscopy procedures under supervision.
• Support perioperative team and patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician and RN in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
• Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Transport patients between rooms as needed.
• Assist in patient care delivery under the RN supervision.
• Act as a first assistant to physicians during procedures.
• Handle and reprocess instruments and supplies used in procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the physician and team.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Respond to emergencies as directed by the RN.
• Occasionally assist in other ancillary/technical roles within Perioperative Services.
