Job summary

Riverview Health is seeking a diligent Endoscopy Technician to join our gastroenterology team. You will assist physicians in endoscopy settings, educate patients, and help with specimen handling while ensuring infection control and equipment readiness.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of clinical experience, and BLS. Endoscopy Technician Certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire. This is an on-site position in Westfield, Indiana.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: SGNA Associates Program or related formal training.
• Minimum: 1 year clinical experience.
• BLS certification required; Endoscopy Technician Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educate patient about the procedure, preparation, rationale and expectations; provide coaching and relaxation techniques.
• Assist RN with transport of sedated patients to recovery and discharge as directed.
• Communicate patient observations and outcomes to the RN; assist with patient monitoring.
• Inspect and prep endoscopy equipment; document settings and quantities for records.
• Initiate start-up of endoscopy network and photo documentation procedures.
• Specimen collection, labeling, and handling per hospital policy.
• Assist with GI/pulmonary procedures and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Pre-clean/disinfect endoscopic equipment; prep for sterile processing.
• Stock procedure rooms and reorder supplies as needed.
• Provide emergency care using basic life support until staff arrives.
• Other duties as assigned.
