Cayuga Health System in Ithaca, NY, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for fill-time days to support GI procedures. The role focuses on patient care, scope handling, equipment readiness, and collaborating with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, efficient endoscopy sessions.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, willingness to train, and certification (SGNA GI Technical Specialist) within six months. Good dexterity and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs are important.

Qualifications

• Education - High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification within 6 months of starting position (SGNA GI Technical Specialist).
• Willingness to train is acceptable.
• 1–2 years experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Maintains standards for endoscopy patients per SGNA/ASGE/CMC guidelines.
• Responds to changes in patient needs during procedures.
• Anticipates patient needs for each procedure.
• Performs care and maintenance of endoscopes and related equipment.
• Provide appropriate equipment and supplies for procedures; assist nurse and physician as needed.
• Assist with positioning and patient handling during procedures; assist on other units as needed.
