Qualifications

• Education - High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience - Preferred; Willing to Train.
• Licensure - GI Technical Specialist certification (SGNA) within 6 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Planning: Maintains standards for endoscopy patient care per SGNA/ASGE and CMC standards; respond to patient needs during procedures.
• Implementation: Provide physician with equipment and supplies for each procedure; assist with handling supplies and equipment.
• Evaluation/Planning: Ensure Time Out is called; plan care with the team and assist circulating nurse.
• Performance Improvement: Identify unit problems and participate in improvements; promote teamwork.
• Risk Management/Safety: Maintain infection control and a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Information Management: Use HIS/PACS to enter/retrieve data; manage equipment and supply issues.
• Judgement: Report incidents; maintain professional image and protect privacy.
