Job summary

NYU Langone Hospitals in West Palm Beach is seeking a GI Technician to prepare the procedure room and assist with endoscopic procedures. The role provides safe, therapeutic patient care under RN supervision and supports instrumentation, reprocessing, and inventory control.

The incumbent will set up rooms, assist with specimen handling, maintain cleanliness, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow and safe care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• SGNA Advanced Associates Program within first year.
• 1–2 years nursing assistant or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Within 6 months: CRCST, CER, or CFER certification.

Responsibilities

• Sets up procedure rooms with supplies and equipment.
• Performs cleaning duties for rooms and unit.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and security of belongings.
• Provides direct patient care and supports team during procedures.
• Assists with patient flow and escorting patients/specimens.
• Ensures proper specimen labeling with MD and RN.
• Adheres to infection control and reprocessing standards.
• Communicates effectively and documents handoffs.
