Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola, NY is seeking a GI Technician for the ASC Manhasset Endoscopy unit. This full‑time daytime role prepares the procedure room and equipment, ensuring availability for both advanced and routine endoscopic procedures while supporting safe, age‑specific care under a registered nurse.

You will adhere to reprocessing guidelines, assist with patient transport and cleaning, and maintain par levels of endoscopic supplies within budget.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1–2 years Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and basic computer skills.
• Must obtain one of the following certifications within 6 months of employment: CRCST, CER, or CFER.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure room and equipment for endoscopic procedures.
• Facilitate availability of equipment for advanced and routine endoscopic procedures.
• Provide safe, therapeutic, age‑specific care under a Registered Nurse’s direction.
• Adhere to scope/equipment reprocessing guidelines.
• Assist with patient transport and cleaning duties.
• Ensure proper par levels of endoscopic supplies within budget.
