Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a GI Technician for the ASC Manhasset Endoscopy unit. The role involves preparing the procedure room, ensuring equipment readiness for endoscopic procedures, and providing patient care under RN direction.

You will maintain reprocessing guidelines, assist with patient transport and cleaning, and manage inventory to keep proper par levels within budget. High school diploma, 1–2 years’ nursing assistant experience, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent.
• Current and valid BLS certification.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Basic computer skills.
• Within 6 months of employment must obtain CRCST, CER, or CFER.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the procedure room for endoscopic procedures.
• Ensure availability and functionality of all equipment for both advanced and routine endoscopic procedures.
• Provide safe, therapeutic, age‑specific care under RN direction.
• Adhere to strict scope and equipment reprocessing guidelines.
• Assist with patient transport and cleaning duties for orderly room function.
• Maintain proper par levels of advanced and standard endoscopic supplies within budget.
