Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopic procedures at St. Luke's Hospital. The role is day shift with on-call rotation, 32 to 40 hours weekly, with variable hours.

Under supervision you will assist physicians, apply sterile technique and fiber optics knowledge, require CPR, and a high school diploma plus specialized training. Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is required or approved exemption.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized training.
• Previous Operating Room experience is preferred. Basic Medical Terminology is required.
• Must be able to understand and be knowledgeable of the principles of sterile technique, sterilization process, etc. Knowledge of fiber optics required.
• Three years and up to five years experience required.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of the Manager, Patient Care Services or Designee, perform a variety of duties including providing technical services or support.
• Assist physicians with a variety of endoscopic procedures, including demonstrating clinical skills in an acute patient care environment.
