Job summary

Geisinger in Pennsylvania seeks an Endoscopy Support role to prepare patients and equipment for procedures, assist physicians, and provide patient-centered care. You will monitor patients, handle specimens, manage inventory, and train new staff in the Endoscopy suite.

Strong emphasis on safety, sterilization, and regulatory compliance is required. Required is at least 1 year of related work experience and Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Prepares and assists with endoscopy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and sets up equipment for endoscopic procedures.
• Assists physicians and anticipates needs to facilitate safe procedures.
• Provides patient support in a service-oriented manner.
• Operates monitoring devices and attaches them to patients.
• Prepares, identifies, and verifies specimens obtained during procedures.
• Restocks endoscopy supplies and maintains inventory.
• Serves as a preceptor for new Endoscopy personnel.
• Cleans and processes equipment per established procedures.
• Operates high-level disinfectors and maintains records.
• Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Follows sterilization/disinfection procedures and monitors chemistry.
