Job summary

Penn Medicine's Endoscopy Team at HUP is hiring a GI Tech to assist physicians during endoscopic procedures and support the unit with reprocessing instruments and receptionist duties.

The role requires basic life support, a high school diploma, and hospital experience. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Previous hospital experience as an OR technician or nursing assistant preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Ability to assist physicians in endoscopic procedures and perform clerical duties.
• Familiarity with Navicare and Endoworks systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during endoscopic procedures under supervision.
• Reprocess endoscopic instruments and manage clerical/reception duties.
• Handle patient logs, transport, and supply ordering as needed.
• Maintain Endoscopy unit documentation and use Navicare for scheduling.
• Communicate with physicians and departments regarding admissions, transfers, and discharges.
