Job summary

Tavares Surgery Center, LLC in Florida is seeking a GI Endoscopy Technician (PRN) to assist during endoscopic procedures under the supervision of a surgeon. You will operate clinical equipment, help maintain endoscopes, and support patient flow in the procedure room.

Required is a high school diploma, at least 1 year in a GI lab, and current BLS (ACLS preferred). This PRN role offers involvement in a busy ambulatory surgery setting with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred.
  • Current BLS required, ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with GI endoscopic procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and instruments.
  • Manage patient flow and prepare the room for procedures; stock supplies; order materials.
  • Handle clerical tasks as needed in the procedure area.

GI Endoscopy Tech at Tavares Surgery Center

The GI Technician/Endoscopy operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures. The physician, registered nurse, and GI technician collaborate in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes. The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments. Additional duties of the GI technician include managing patient flow, preparing the room for procedures, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling various clerical tasks.
